Our Story

Two families, one grove in the Negev, two generations of olive oil.

Family olive harvest among the trees

Avnir Farm was founded in 1986 in Israel's northern Negev, on a lone family farm near Nir Aqiva, by the Avitan and Shahaf families. What began as a few first rows of olive trees has grown into a true family farm, where every bottle of oil carries a full season of work.

The farm specializes in two things: raising sheep and growing olives — which is why you'll find both in our hand-drawn emblem. The grove grows two cultivars: Souri, the ancient variety of the Land of Israel, and Barnea, a modern Israeli cultivar.

We make our oil with a signature blend of the two: Souri brings depth and character, Barnea brings softness and fruitiness. The olives are harvested at peak ripeness in autumn and cold-pressed within hours — no treatment, no additives, no filtering.

Cold pressing preserves what truly matters: the olive's flavor and aroma. The result — extra virgin olive oil, rich and balanced, with a gentle peppery finish. Kosher under the Merhavim Regional Rabbinate, fresh, and straight from the farmer — no middlemen.

When you buy from us, you buy from a family that knows every tree by name. We'd love to hear from you — on WhatsApp.
